Steve Dering: Owners submit requests for their winter vacation dates and their summer vacation dates prior to each of those seasons. If there is more demand than available residences for particular time periods, confirmation is determined by a rotating priority system created by DCP. Over the years, all owners have equal access to the more demanded vacation times...In addition, owners can stay at their club anytime there is availability. There is no limit on use. If some owners use it less, others can use it more.
Luxury Travel: All the residences at the Deer Valley Club in Utah are sold out. What will DCP do differently at the Residences at the Chateaux?
Steve Dering: Both clubs are operated almost identically. The major difference is that the Chateaux residences are larger and more luxurious, reflecting the evolution of the residence club industry and Deer Valley real estate.
Luxury Travel: What happens over the summer - are caretakers there, or do owners elect to stay in Park City when there's no powder on the slopes?
Steve Dering: Owners use their club during the summer, also. Much like other Park City and Deer Valley vacation home owners, they visit initially for the skiing - but once they experience the incredible Rocky Mountain summers and the wide range of recreation available [in Spring and Summer], they return often.
