Luxury honeymoon vacation packages in Hawaii abound, but as a romantic destination, Maui has the best mix of all the tropical pleasures a just married couple could want.
It's hard to think of a more romantic honeymoon spot than Hawaii. It's not too remote, but it feels a world apart from the rest of the United States. And Maui, in particular, has consistently been named as best vacation island in the world. While Lanai and certainly Kauai are more undeveloped than Maui, Maui is perfect for luxury travel packages, and the romantic getaways that are destination weddings and honeymoons.
No surprise, then, that a young couple planning their wedding and honeymoon would consider Maui (and Hawaii as a whole) for their honeymoon vacation destination. Romantic packages abound here, for getaways of all sorts. Luxury Travel recently was engaged in the email correspondence below.
Larry: Hello, my name is Larry [name changed] and I live in Arizona. I have just read a number of your articles on Maui and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Thank you for the great information and fun reading! My question is this....have you written any articles or know of any (credible) resources on honeymooning in Maui. My fiance and I are getting married, and have chosen Maui as our destination. Our first choice was Fiji or Bora Bora but have decided to reduce travel time and enjoy more leisure time...haha! Any information on any articles you have written regarding honeymoons in Maui would be greatly appreciated and I will keep looking on my own in the meantime.
Again, thanks for the great information. It is refreshing to find some who can not only write but takes strides to make sure the information is correct. I wish you all the best and a happy holiday!
Luxury Travel: Thanks so much for your kind words! Congrats on your upcoming wedding and honeymoon. I've got to tell you, if I were to honeymoon in Maui and finances were not a consideration, I'd pick the Four Seasons in Wailea. If you want something more remote and a bit more affordable (Maui as a a whole can be a pretty high-end vacation spot), you might want to look into the Hotel Hana-Maui. It doesn't have the nearby luxury shopping that Wailea has, but it is surrounded by untouched beauty like you won't believe. Even if you don't stay in Hana, please take a day to do the "Road to Hana" trip. It's really amazing!
Now, I don't know what you like to do while on vacation - sit and snooze by the pool, get couples massages, hike around Maui, scuba dive and snorkel... So it's hard to know exactly what would be the perfect honeymoon for you. There are a lot of great Maui resort destinations fitting various needs. But: The most romantic meal I've ever had outside of France, was at Ferraro's in the Four Seasons. Tell them it's your honeymoon and you'll get a table facing the Pacific, with champagne and attentive (but not overbearing) service, and quietly piped in classical music that seems to ebb and swell with the crash of the waves. It's amazing. You can eat there even if you're not staying at the Four Seasons. Hope this helps?
Larry: I have been meaning to write and thank you for your quick response to my initial email, so this finds me at a good time. I sincerely appreciate you getting back to me and will certainly use some of your suggestions. We have already looked into the Four Seasons and that seems to be the place of choice so far. You are right, I will have to watch some pennies between now and then but it's a special day and my bride is definitely worth it! I did a lot of research looking for the perfect honeymoon spot in Hawaii, something that was 'all encompassing' about honeymoon destinations and there is very little out there...Thank you.
Luxury Travel: Thank you, Larry. You asked if there was an article on honeymooning in Maui, and now there is. A romantic honeymoon in Hawaii, at the best resort destination for any vacation preference, can be had by any happily wedded couple. May your lives together be as perfect as your Maui honeymoon vacation.
