The San Francisco area of California has many luxury hotels, but only one best 5-star hotel in East Palo Alto. Four Seasons is the top place for high tech business trips.
East Palo Alto, California is anything but a luxury travel destination. Why then, has Four Seasons, 5-star resort hotel par excellence, opened a new hotel in this somewhat gritty part of San Mateo County? The answer's in its full name: The Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is the best upscale hotel for luxury business travel and upscale business meetings in the region. Young internet turks (Facebook, Yahoo, etc) come here to relax in style and luxury, happily spending some of their Silicon Valley wealth on the best, most creative hotel bar drinks in the greater San Francisco area. Anyone wanting to set up a meeting with an internet startup or established web company, would be wise to arrange face time at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley.
The best of the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley:
The high tech capital is well served by this luxury hotel - Four Seasons has designed it to reflect Silicon Valley's hip, contemporary culture without sacrificing the classy, 5-star appeal of all Four Seasons resorts and hotels.
The hotel is 10 minutes from Stanford University and more upscale Palo Alto.
The Quattro Restaurant and Bar offers more than delicious dining options. This restaurant bar is by far the most fun of any 5-star hotel visited by Luxury Travel. The ambiance is happy, both festive and relaxed, and the mood is infectious.
The bartender is creative and up to the challenge of making up drinks on the spot.
The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining. The extensive wine list offers both local California wines and classic Italian wines, complementing the Italian cuisine.
The Spa at Four Seasons Silicon Valley is as pampering and relaxing as any top day spa. Packages include On The Run, Half Day, Total Indulgence packages and more, with a plethora of massages and body treatments. The Spa embraces luxury; an appointment here is a vacation in itself.
The hotel-wide wi-fi, tech-savvy support staff, flat screen TVs in even the guest bathrooms, and 24-hour business center elucidate that this is the best luxury business hotel around. Work can get done by the pool, in the restaurant, wherever inspiration strikes.
The rooms and suites are gorgeous. Deep soaking tubs in the bathrooms, soft, high thread-count bedding, original art and more go a long way. Guests here see that this is a 5-star luxury hotel with attention to details.
What is not the best about the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley:
The hotel is right off the highway, although double-paned windows and a careful design lead to adequate soundproofing.
The pool deck is only available for group reception from May-October, despite the area's ideal year-round climate.
The immediate area around the Four Seasons Hotel Palo Alto is particularly careworn and unlovely. University Avenue would benefit from some gentrification. It's the former "Whiskey Gulch" area of East Palo Alto, and today it's mainly known for office parks, a Home Depot and IKEA.
Let's face it; East Palo Alto has little to offer the luxury or leisure traveler. There's little to draw, say, a family to vacation here besides Stanford U. and Silicon Valley.
The crowd here is so young, and so hip, it could be somewhat intimidating for an older couple.
With 200 rooms and 27 suites, high-speed wireless internet and webcast capabilities, a terrific restaurant and hotel bar, and rooftop pool and jacuzzi, Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is the best luxury class hotel in the region. This Four Seasons is the best (really, the only) option for a Palo Alto California luxury business meeting or work trip.
