Sure, breakfast in bed is a sweet Mother's Day gift - but a little online shopping for spa gift certificates will result in a more relaxing, pampering treat.

Mother's Day is all about giving moms a break. From the classic (if overrated) gift of breakfast in bed, to a long weekend away at a full-service luxury resort spa, Mother's Day allows moms to relax and pamper themselves.

Online shopping for Mother's Day gifts can seem overwhelming, but it helps to narrow down online shopping gift ideas to luxury spa gift certificates. After all, your wife or mother can redeem her gift when she chooses, and often, where she chooses as well. Breakfast in bed of burnt toast and a bowl of cereal is cute, but finding a spa gift certificate on her tray will really make your wife or mother happy.

Mother's Day Spa Gift Certificates that are good at many different day spas, are offered by several reputable websites.

  • SpaFinder - This is one of the most preeminent spa gift certificate repositories found in online shopping. Based on the eponymous magazine, SpaFinder online includes clips from the print version, and an easily navigated, searchable website. Shop for Mother's Day spa gift certificates by using the navigation bar on the left: The site lists over 3,600 spas across the world.
  • SpaWish - Online shopping for Mother's Day spa gift certificates is really easy here, too. More than 1,000 day spas in North America participate in SpaWish's gift certificate program. Simply click on the spa list link on the left side of the web page, and then click on the state in which you want to find a spa. Online shopping here isn't confined to spa gift certificates. Spa items and treat for a home spa treatment can be purchased as well.
  • Bliss - Bliss is a luxury day spa with locations in several cosmopolitan areas: W hotels in Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City and more all cater to the luxury travel set. A Mother's Day gift your mom would never forget (and that makes up for years of last-minute drug store perfume purchases) would be a long weekend at a W hotel, with a gift certificate redeemable at its Bliss day spa.
  • Exhale - The Exhale luxury day spa chain is also in several popular US travel destinations - Boston, Los Angeles, NYC, etc - but, unlike Bliss, these are stand-alone day spas. Gift certificates are easily available online. Shopping on Exhale's website allows for a personal message to be included, with prices starting at $25. There are a a wide range of services at Exhale, from a relaxing massage to a pilates style workout.
  • Spa Emergency - So you forgot about Mother's Day again, but you don't want your wife or mom to know? Online shopping for a spa gift certificate here will never reveal your secret. Spa Emergency sends printable gift certificates right to your email address, with only the name of the day spa (and the amount) on it. But that I-can't-believe-I-forgot-it-again guilt can only be assuaged by throwing in a nice little piece of jewelry, my friend. Happy Mother's Day, indeed!

These spa gift certificates aren't only for Mother's Day, of course, but often the spas have special deals for mothers. From a manicure to a deep-tissue massage, there is bound to be the perfect match for your needs at several day spas near you.
