The night before an extended trip often finds soon-to-be travelers crankily moving from bedroom to closet to bathroom and back again, re-checking the contents of their suitcases and wondering what was inevitably left out. What with high-tech mobile gadgets, of course, there are even more items to forget today than ever. A luxury vacation without a digital camera? Forget it. Well, actually, no: Don't forget that digital camera, and don't forget all its necessary accompanying equipment either. That camera won't do any good, obviously, if the battery dies on the plane.
Luxury Travel spoke with Michael Miller, who recently wrote and published Photopedia: The Ultimate Digital Photography Resource. His book helps beginners and intermediate level photographers learn how to take advantage of their digital camera's capabilities: This includes composition, lighting and focus, along with specifics regarding vacation photographs, landscape and nature photos, and more. In the context of this interview, Michael Miller offered a checklist for stressed-out packers to use, to ensure they don't forget to pack anything they may need to best photograph their luxury travels.
Now, anyone taking all these digital camera accessories on an airplane is going to want to pack them in a carry-on bag. All airlines strongly suggest packing valuables and pricey electronic equipment in stowed baggage. The tripod or monopod may be too bulky for carry-on, but everything else should fit. In fact, with careful packing, all the digital camera accessories (minus said tripod) will find a place in the camera case itself. The digital camera's case, obviously, can be packed in a carry-on backpack or duffel bag.
Luxury travel enhances life experiences and relaxes the soul. This digital camera packing checklist will reduce the likelihood of overlooking a wanted accessory. So, don't worry about whether you forgot any camera equipment; relax, and enjoy your vacation.
